I need help deciding which rug to get. For reference, my walls and curtains:

My couch is very close to this sandy/mocha/putty color:

Mosaic Table Top Pics...

Ugh, why the hell was I up at 4:30 am? *grumble* Anyway, I finished the mosaic table top I've been working on all week last night, that [info]caelum_rainieri will use as his desk in the office. Here it is:
Photobucket
Shards of broken tiles and the bare wood with quarter round nailed on. Also wine.

Photobucket
Tiles arranged and buttered, but not grouted in. More wine.

Photobucket
Finshed table in natural light. Also Koi. And no more wine.

Photobucket
Finished table in ambient room light. Tired now. I feel like I've been busy all week and got nothing done! The garden needs pruning and weeding. The bathroom STILL isn't painted. And I want to steam clean the carpets this weekend. And I R TIRED... did I mention that?

The stepping stones I made drying on the kitchen counter. I used some of the extra tiles on my garden stakes.

Finished garden stakes. [info]kickthehobbit , you were right, thanks for the Modge Podge tip. Worked perfectly! Also, holy crap where did the weekend go? I'm exhausted and my back hurts.

Lastly, a HUGE THANK YOU to [info]aunty_kreist for the gorgeous copper wind chimes, flower seeds and card! I'm going to look for a copper hook for it and hang it in the pollinator garden! Then pics! Smooches!

Birdses

So [info]caelum_rainieri and I love dem damn crows, that's no secret. We feed them raw peanuts almost every day, but during the winter when food is more scarce, we feed them something a bit more substantial. Crows are omnivorous, but it's best to try and feed them whatever is found naturally in your area. As we live right on the water, we feed them bits of sea food plus raw nuts and seeds.

Williams-Sonoma Goodness!

Have any of you done any shopping there? Some of their stuff is wildly expensive, but a lot of it is decently priced as well. Damn they have some gorgeous copper pans and roasters. I swear, I could spend 10,000$ there and not even blink. YIKES! Anyway, I knew I should get my Thanksgiving order in now, so here's what I ordered:

1. Stainless Steel Cups & Spoons
2. Turkey Brine
3. Brining Bags
4. Turkey Gravy Base
5. Organic Turkey Herbs
6. La Brea Stuffing Blend

Usually, I make everything from scratch, gravy, stuffing, you name it, but I'm always happy to try things that seem delicious and might save me some time. I've been brining my turkeys for about 5 years now, and interestingly enough, when The Pioneer Woman wrote that she brines too, I was excited to try her favorite blend. (I usually just make my own blend...) Then I saw all this other stuff, and it sounded too good to pass up. I'm especially excited about the LaBrea stuffing blend, as my husband and I LOVE that bakery to begin with. For the herbs, I always end up buying whatever I can't pick from my garden, and I use the typical sage/rosemary/thyme combo, so the herbs that I ordered will be a nice supplement to them. I know it's not even Halloween yet, but a turkey dinner is my favorite thing of all time to cook, so what can I say? Guess I better go order our free-range/organic turkey from the butcher now... so tell me f-list, do you have any plans for Turkey Day?

Yesterday at the Beach...

Amaranth

So here's a pic of the boat house(which is about 40 feet from our back deck) from the water, lol, which both my husband and I were standing in with Amaranth. (Someone please remind me next time that freshly shaved legs + salt water = ZING!) Uh, as I was saying, in the pics below, you can see Amaranth's shaved patch on her shoulder where Koi bit the crap out of her about a month ago? Roughly? Anyway, being that she is an older lady, sand and water therapy is excellent for her. Unfortunately we couldn't bring Koi or Zen down yesterday because I'm still way too weak (hello? stupid surgery) to take one of them and the husband can't walk both at once (over 200 lbs of puppy between them) so they were rewarded with apples but were still none too happy about it. And I'm just going to mention that water was COLD too! ^^big-ass pics )

So this is the king-sized bed we just bought! WOOT! If any of you remember, we've been looking for forever. We considered this bed and then this bed... but the bed above won out. The others weren't as good as this bed when we rolled around in them in the stores, lol. The next thing we need to do is replace our mattress. I'm thinking the Tempur-Pedic Celebrity... muahahahahahaha! I'll NEVER get out of bed again! ^^

The husband snapped this pic this afternoon. This is actually a common sight for us. Military subs coming and going constantly. I'm always happy to see the ones coming home (as this one was) and sad to see the ones going back out. This was typical rainy/misty/foggy Washington State weather, otherwise, you'd see soldiers standing on the outside atop the sub. The subs always have escort ships alongside them as you see in this pic as well.
