I R OLD...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
happy birthday
LOL, tomorrow I turn 42. Damn... wow, what happened to the time? Now I know why old folks say that. Anyway, tomorrow's plans include going to my friend Piper's Spa and getting a massage, pedi & facial. She owns 2 spas around here, is a Taurus, and just a lovely woman. I'm so glad I met her. Then Harry Potter and a few various errands, and then I'm making this, along with some tenderloin and lobster from Costco. If it looks as good as it sounds, there will be pics.

Speaking of pics and Piper, I dropped off a bunch of stuff for her from my garden. Check this out:

Damn [info]demure , I think you sent me one of that massive mutant zucc of yours. WTF???  Photobucket

Also, giant mutant string beans anyone? O.o

This is the rug I finally decided on, not one of the choices, I know, but I got a great deal which will allow me to get a Cusinart AND a rug this year for my bday gifts. And speaking of home improvement, right now we're putting in a new sink & cabinet in the bathroom. Just finished the entryway too. One of these days we'll be halfway close to finished. Pics probably coming of that too, lol.

In other news I still have the plague although homemade chicken soup has made it better, if even a little.

I transplanted most of the first tray yesterday save for the tiny dill, which is only now just sprouting. The tomato tray has pretty much sprouted overnight! Mostly everything else has been transplanted into plastic cups (damn you cowpots... DAMN YOU!). If the tomatos keep this up, I'll be needing to transplant them tomorrow.

Ugh, went through the house and put tape on everything that needs to go into storage. No fun. I'm exhausted! Grrr... so here's some garden porn to make me feel better.pics )

So this is my baby veggie & herb garden. The first tray doesn't have too many sprouts yet, but the second one needs to be replanted already. Damn! We just planted these babies Friday too! We planted 4 kinds of tomatoes, dill, thyme, and basil, corn, 2 kinds of carrots, beans, squash, cantalope, cucumbers, strawberries, and a few others. I'm not usually good at seeds - there's so much that can go wrong between planting a seed and putting them into the ground/planting bed. I usually do better with small starts. This hasn't stopped me from trying again though.

So this is my new water garden. This is what it looked like before. It now contains Salvia, 3 kinds of water lilies, one Orange Peel Plant, and one Water Poppy. The bowl is a Chinese glazed bowl and it's huge! I'm really pleased with how it all came out. My husband and I spent all weekend sprucing up our garden and the Thursday and Friday right before we BOTH spent at the Day Spa! (More about that tomorrow...) Anyway, here's more pics of the front garden:

My Lupine plant has about 40 furry seed pods. If anyone would like some, let me know. I'll screen comments for your privacy so leave me your addy and I'll send them out asap. Here's a link about Lupines if you don't know much about them. I have the watermelon red colored variety:

My husband took a picture of a Blue Heron Sunday morning. S/he was fishing on our beach. We see them around here a lot and they're incredibly loud honkers. Egads, I hate the 4th of July... we always have a bunch of yahoos who fire their guns not to mention the loudest fireworks they can find. They never fail to rattle our windows and spazz out our dogs.
