So yesterday on the way home from Home Depot we found this little guy huddled in shock on the side of the road. It looked like something had gotten him lots of feathers were ripped out but I didn't see any blood. Anyway, it was too late to call a vet, so we ran home, got our smallest cat carrier and a towel and went and got him. We took him home and kept him in the arm darkish office. We put some water and food in the carrier (raw sunflower seeds and almonds, a crumbled hard boiled egg, and some salmon) but we didn't think he live out the night he was in such bad shape. We woke up this morning to him standing on the plate where his food once was (nom) looking at us, lol. We took him to the wildlife center where they rehab wild animals for free. The vet is going to check him out tomorrow monring and call us. If he's good, we'll take him back home and release him close to where we found him. If he needs to stay a few days, we'll donate some $ to them and then release him if he makes it. I'd actually love to do some volunteer work at this place once my back gets stronger.
This morning on the way to the farmer's market we saw a dead coyote on the side of the road. It was a very young little female, barely a juevenile, and she looked like she'd suffered. It really killed us both, so we took her home to bury her. As we drove into the driveway, we saw 3 yearling bucks eating the beejeezuz out of our apple trees, lol.

Buck #1... look at those cute velvet baby antlers!

Buck #2 walkign across the street, even smaller antler nubs.

Buck #3, biggest anters, eating our neighbor's raspberries. I get such a kick out of these guys, it really cheered me up today. We buried the little coyote under one of the apple trees and planted some flowers on top of her grave and lit a candle for her. =[

I am sorry about the baby coyote. So sad.
I MUST KNOW!
Poor Squeaky had a mass in his liver that ruptured and killed him, the poor guy. I looooooved him, he would sit in my lap and sleep when I was there late at night restocking the clinic and doing treatments heets for the next day.
You totally should volunteer at the wildlife rescue when you can! It's so fulfilling, you'd love it!
Could you tell what happened to the coyote? Was she hit by a car, maybe?
Wish we had deer in our yard here.
I'm sorry you had to bury her.
But I am still very jealous of where you live!!! Such beautiful creatures!!!!
I checked my mail!
You rawketh!!!
I will post about it later-for now-work calls-must go to it.
