Dinner last night. OH NOMMIE NOMMINESS McNOMNOM!

Photobucket
Inna pan. Of course, I have no pic pronz of it on the plate as it was decimated to quickly. He's quick when he wants to be, that hubs of mine.

In other news, Nancy the Neighbor and I have come to an understanding. AT LAST! Molly too. I was out in the garden on the 4th and she and Molly came wandering by. I didn't even hear her sneak up on me, I honestly turned around and she was there. She introduced herself, and she and I got to talking about the garden. I asked her what her plans were for the evening, and she said they were having a church dealie to celebrate, but that she didn't want to go because no one drinked there, lol. The husband held up his beer and grinned. Of course, then I felt bad and asked her if she'd like a glass of wine, and she plopped right down. I poured, we drank. She trotted out Dancing the Wheel and I chuckled that that was our publisher. She told me that she bought it at the rez, and I refrained from telling her that it was pretty old and pretty watered down stuff written for white consumption. (Damn, that sounded snotty... =[ )

She filled us in on all the neighbors, hahaha, and asked me if I wanted to go to various nurseries with her to pick stuff out for her gardens. Uh... *panicked furtive face* changed the subject, heh. Meh, she's open minded and sweet, has no children and I tried not to be too profane, you know, like I try to do for most company. >=] She ased me what temperment I was and I said INFJ. She told me what she was... INT something? Bah, I can't remember now. Anyway, Molly loves me which I'm told is weird because she hates everyone. Our dogs saw me pet her, so now they don't freak out so much when she trundles by. So there's that. At one point Koi locked us out of the house (dexterous, clever little Gemini) and Nancy went and got us one of her ladders so the hubs could climb back inside through an open window. Then she gave us the ladder! Sweet... I think we'll invite her over for dinner at sometime soon...

Lastly, this is the state of my walls. Please kill me. Thanks.

  • I, personally, love your walls as an abstract expression of 'shades of gray,' clearly evocative of rains, gentle mists, blue-gray forests, and riding on dappled roan horseback.

Buuuut, if you want it to just be a regular wall and NOT an evocative piece of artwork, then yeah. Heh.

Personally I think it looks exciting. ;)
    • LOL, thanks! I was thinking a tealie color, but for this house something bright would be wrong. Therefore I think as teal is already a tricky shade, something with a fair amount of grey would add to the softness. Which is what I'm going for. Comfortable, soothing, softness. But you're imagery is spot on in my mind as far as how those colors feel to me. Imagine that? >=]

      Squee post coming tomorrow! WOOT!
  • Oh my goodness. Can I come over for dinner! Last night was pot roast. LOL Yours looks yummier!

LOL well at least Nancy the Neighbor is trying. XD. Sonds like a pleasant evening.

I love the colors you are choosing from. The one on the top right is stunning!!!!!
    • Oh damn... I LOVE me some pot roast. How do you make it? I haven't found a recipe I like yet. I seem to remember my gran making it and it was just to die for. I guess nothing compares to gran though... I was glad we made friends with Nancy. I think problem is sovled (hopefully) and who doesn't need more friends? The top right by the curtain swatches? or with just the paints?
  • As a color person, I'd go with the lighter gray-blue swatch in the middle. I think the larger one to the left would end up being too gray when covering the whole wall and the one to the right has a touch mor egreen in it.

    Just my 2p.

And yeah, we have boring neighbors.
    • You know, that's Shoreline Blue, and I'm using it in the bathroom, doing a "Candle Light" type of treatment. In the bathroom, there's no window thus it's all artificial light, which even with white light bulbs, still casts a yellowish hue. So it looks a lot more subtle there, than it does in the living room natural greyish light.

The 2 colors I'm debating for the living room are Vera Cruz which is the suede treatment (i've used the suede look before, but used a roller instead of the brush to make it very subtle, and it was fabulous albeit a different color), and then the Sanctuary color which came out far brighter than it looked on the swatch when I had them mix a tester at HD. Of course, they tell you the Ralph colors don't really Test well at all, (then why sell them?) so I have no clue what I'm going to do. I think I'm leaning toward the Vera Cruz though.

The kitchen is going to be Sage Sweater and Climbing Lily, but I'm not going to even put up pics of those because they look terrible online. They're so much richer and more vibrant irl... so I won't bother. Hell, the VC and Sanctuary swatches here look nothing like they do irl... bah!
  • Nom Nom Nom indeed. Oh man, now I'm hungry. Thanks a ton.

Glad you and your neighbor have apparently signed a cease fire. I now have hope for the Israelis and Palestinians. ;-)
  • Ooh, "periwinkle" walls! =D

Your dinner looks delish. Myself, I had a can of Chef-boy-ardee mini ravioli's. O_o
